The International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) is a questionnaire used around the world by doctors and in research to assess erectile function. The IIEF-5 is a shortened, five-question version.
Each question asks about your erections over the past six months, such as how confident you are of getting and keeping an erection, and how satisfying sex has been. The answers are scored and added up to give a total that suggests whether erectile dysfunction is absent, mild, moderate or severe.
We talk about your symptoms, health and medicines, in confidence.
We go through the IIEF-5 with you to measure how severe the problem is.
We explain what might help, such as focused shockwave or the P-Shot®, and suggest GP checks if needed.
If you have treatment, repeating the questionnaire helps show whether things are improving.
