Mr Darryl M Coombes
BDS, King’s College London (1993) · MBBS, King’s College London (2000) · FDSRCS (Eng), Gold Medal (1996) · FRCS (OMFS) · LLM, Cardiff University (2025)
Mr Darryl Coombes is a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon, qualified in both dentistry (1993) and medicine (2000) at King’s College London. That dual training is the foundation of his specialty, which covers the mouth, jaws, face and the skin of the face.
He trained in NHS units across England, including Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, and in 1996 was awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal College of Surgeons of England for the top mark in the Fellowship in Dental Surgery examination. He was an NHS consultant for ten years, with much of his work in reconstructing the face after injury or cancer surgery, before focusing on aesthetic facial surgery. He developed the Apex Facelift®.
At Vale, Mr Coombes operates in the clinic’s own minor surgery room, under local anaesthetic. He has published more than 20 peer-reviewed papers and teaches surgeons in training.
Every treatment starts with a consultation with Mr Coombes himself. He’ll examine you, listen to what you’d like to change, and tell you honestly whether surgery, a smaller procedure or no treatment is the better choice.
